Whether you are a returning guest or vendor, or are discovering Mayfest for the first time, Mayfest has "Something for Everyone."  Mayfest is a juried art fair with a focus on a casual, family-friendly atmosphere.  Included are up to 100 Artist Vendors, Young Artists, Demonstrating Artists and Activity Artists, performances by musicians, dancers, and a full-length play by the Lexington Children's Theatre, strolling performers, an audience-participation, traditional Maypole Dance, food concession vendors, and children's activities including an Astro Jump, pirate ship ride, pony rides, petting zoo and children's crafts.

 

Date, Time & Location

2009 Marks the 15th Anniversary of the Mayfest Arts Fair, which is held annually during Mother's Day weekend (the 2nd weekend in May).  The 2009 event will be held Saturday, May 9, 10am - 6pm and Sunday May 10, 11am - 5pm.

The festival is held in historic Gratz Park, located in Downtown Lexington, Kentucky.  The park sits between The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning (formerly the old Lexington Public Library building) on 2nd Street, and Transylvania University on 3rd Street, in a residential neighborhood located between Broadway Ave. and Upper St.

Cost to Attend

The festival is open to the public and free of admission charge for guests, providing a day of free fun and entertainment for the entire community.  There is a fee for all vendors and performing artists to participate.

The deadline for 2009 Mayfest Arts Fair applications has passed and applications are now closed.

Each year, applications are accepted in the following areas: Artist Vendors, Young Artists, Demonstration Artists, Food Concession Vendors, Performing Artists, Activity Vendors, Farmer's Market Vendors, Downtown Merchant Vendors and Local Wineries. If you would like to receive an application next year and believe you are not on our permanent Vendor mailing list, send the following information to Laura@downtownlex.com:  First and last name, business name, mailing address, phone number, website, email address, product category(ies) and a brief description of your work.
