Fall and cooler weather are practically upon us! Looking for fun things to do with friends? Or an event for the whole family? We’ve got you covered with this list of some of the best things to do during the Fall season in Downtown Lexington!
University of Kentucky Football
A staple of Fall in Lexington, UK’s football season kicked off this past weekend with a convincing win against Louisiana-Monroe! The season starts with a 3 game homestand, so there are plenty of opportunities to catch the Wildcats in action! After this stretch and an away game, rival Florida and 2019 National Champions LSU come to Kroger Field, so you should too! Check out their website or other ticket venues for more details, or to purchase tickets.
Best Spots to Watch the Game
If large crowds and stadium food aren’t for you, don’t worry! Lexington has your back with plenty of amazing places to catch the game and grab a bite or a drink! Firstly, LexLive offers a tremendous viewing experience on some of the biggest screens in the state. Not to mention they have a lot to offer after the game too, including bowling, arcade games, and several movie theatres, including the largest screen in Kentucky!
If you’re a pizza lover like me, then I would check out the Goodfellas Pizzeria in the Distillery District! They offer delicious pizza, great deals on drinks, and a really unique dining experience that would be perfect for any game! Ethereal Brewing and Ethereal Brewing Public House are both amazing spots as well, with very unique drink menus, and amazing service. Both locations are perfect for watching the game, and Ethereal Brewing even has an outdoor seating area perfect for a nice fall day!
Central Bank Thursday Night Live
Enjoy live music? How about FREE live music? Central Bank Thursday Night Live offers free music, a great selection of drinks, and food provided by local vendors! Located at the Fifth Third Pavilion at Tandy Park, and running every Thursday through October 7, this is the perfect spot to hang out, listen to some great music, and grab a drink. Located next to several bars and restaurants, including Centro and Horse and Jockey, there is plenty to do before, during, and after the concert starts!
Lexington Farmers Market
Another fall classic is the Lexington Farmers Market! Locations vary depending on the day, but for 5 days out of the week, you can depend on them to provide fresh and delicious fruits and vegetables, tremendous hospitality, and a festive environment for the whole family to enjoy! Check their website to see the location, as well as a list of their vendors!
Lexington Legends
How about catching a Lexington Legends baseball game? With extremely affordable tickets, as well as some pretty amazing deals, including $0.25 hot dogs and $2 beers on select weekdays, catching a Legends game is always a great time! Their schedule runs through early October, so check out their website for an awesome time at the ballpark!
