Parking

There are more than 20,000 on and off street parking spaces Downtown. Lex Park (Lexington Parking Authority) manages the on-street meters and a number of garages. In addition, SP+ Parking manages a number of parking lots. Both companies have mobile apps to find and pay for on and off street parking.

Public Transportation

Lextran operates 26 fixed routes and 21 of those pass through Downtown providing easy and affordable access. Lextran operates 7 days a week with most routes operating from 5:30 a.m. – 12:30 a.m. Monday-Saturday and from 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. on Sundays. Regular bus fare is $1.00 and there are a variety of reduced fares and pass programs available to individuals who qualify.

Start with Spin

Spin provides 500 bikes in the Downtown through their dockless bike share network available for short-term use. Spins mobile app allow to locate and unlock the bikes and begin their rides. Use the mobile app to end your ride and lock the bike. The bikes can be parked on the strip of sidewalk between the walking area and the street and at public bike racks. Bikes cost around $1 per 30 minute with discounts for people of low income and students. Create and an account and start exploring.
