Property
Improvement Grant

The Property Improvement Grant Rebate Program is managed by the Downtown Lexington Partnership (DLP) and funded by the Downtown Lexington Management District (DLMD). It is designed to incentivize property owners and business operators to invest in buildings, parking lots and businesses and to complete projects with sound urban design.

The program provides a reimbursement grant for up to 50% of eligible project costs up to a maximum grant of $10,000. To receive a grant, property owners or business operators must meet with DLP staff and complete an application prior to commencing a project. No grants will be awarded to projects that begin or are completed prior to the application process. Businesses applying for a grant must become a DLP Partner Member before grant funds will be dispersed.

Opportunity Zones

Opportunity Zones are a new federal program that provides significant tax benefits to investors. The Opportunity Zones program is designed to incentivize private investments in low-income communities nationwide. Investors can realize significant federal tax benefits by investing capital gains in Qualified Opportunity Funds. Those tax benefits increase the longer investments remain in Opportunity Funds and include tax deferrals and elimination. Opportunity Funds are then required to invest in qualified projects in Opportunity Zones.
